I’m Lucky, or rather my wife and I made a conscious choice, to live in a mountain town and belong to an active outdoor/fitness community of friends. I don’t think it’s necessary though to leave the room for family dinners. This year it fell to me, for the first time, to host the Christmas dinner for 17 people. I broke completely with tradition and served nothing but healthy food, including wild caught salmon, which I barbecued in the semi outdoor garage. Everyone loved it. For me the experience of food is not just about the taste or texture, but how it feels inside me. That’s why I don’t eat nachos, pizza, deep-fried food, etc. It just doesn’t feel good. Why would I want indigestion and brain fog? Some people’s eating habits just make no sense to me.
